The Attraction of Sticky Places
I'm developing something called the Living Jungle Gym, a way to explore our relationship with our homes and discover what our surroundings might need to support the lives we're living now.
The second experiment is called The Attraction of Sticky Places, and it's a little adventure in noticing. You'll visit a public place you've never been to before, wander around, and pay attention to what draws you in and how the space makes you feel.
Here's what I'm asking you to do:
Set aside about 30 minutes to visit a public place of your choice that you've never visited before. Stay longer if you'd like!
Bring your phone or a camera if you'd like to take pictures, and something to take notes with.
When you're finished, spend a few minutes reflecting on the experience and answering the questions in the attached experiment.
Send me your responses via email - cjhanlonwrites@gmail.com. A few sentences are plenty, and it's fine to leave a question unanswered.
You don't need to buy anything, take photos, or discover anything extraordinary. There are no right or wrong answers. I'm interested in your experience, whatever it turns out to be.
Would you be willing to give it a try? If you are interested, email me at cjhanlonwrites@gmail.com, and I will send you a PDF of the experiment.
