Hi, I’m Christine Hanlon, the creative energy behind CJ Hanlon writes, and…
But wait! It isn’t just an author website; it’s a home to everything that inspires not only my writing but my life.
I am a bit of a nomad, but I’m no minimalist. I started my life in Connecticut and have moved fifteen times throughout the country. The latest location is in the mountains of Colorado, where I live with my husband and dog.
My life is full of highly diverse creativity, and I like it that way; it seems so natural to me, but it is hard for me to feel like I belong in any one place. Nothing seems to mesh entirely with who I am. I am a complex person. I enjoy exploring subjects in depth, covering both the broad and specific aspects that intrigue me.
My life’s philosophy is simple: I want to feel safe, comfortable and supported mentally, emotionally, and physically. But I haven’t always felt that way.
Where I am today has been a result of an “ebb and flow” lifelong journey of self-discovery, and I have gotten to the point where I am “mostly” at peace. Self-doubt and loneliness still show up, but I have learned to call fear out and choose not to let them run free and wreak havoc.
I attended college in Atlanta, Georgia, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design. I then returned to school in Boston, Massachusetts, where I realized I loved architecture but didn’t want to be an Architect. Since then, I have been an Interior Designer, a Project Manager for Architects and Engineers, a Professional Organizer entrepreneur, an Office Manager of a start-up company, a temp employee doing random administrative work, a dishwasher, and a “retail hell” employee.
Now, I work full-time as a writer. I am currently working on my second novel, a mystery/thriller. My first novel, a social horror thriller, was released last year. Although most of what I write falls into the mystery, thriller, and suspense genres, I also plan to write a couple of cookbooks, a short story collection or two, and a satire business management book.
When I’m not writing, I love to cook and bake, capture nature in photos, sew, embroider, thrift shop, and, of course, read.
I’m glad you’re here, and thank you for visiting. Take a look around; you might find something to inspire you.
